User Roles

In Climbzilla, every user has a role that determines their capabilities within a specific gym.

A user who is not logged in. Can view public information about gyms and routes, but cannot interact with content. Cannot edit anything.

A logged-in user with no special privileges. Can view gyms and routes, log ascents, leave comments and difficulty grades.

If the gym settings allow it, can create and edit routes.

A user appointed by the gym admin. Permissions apply only within that specific gym: managing routes and sectors, hidden sectors, banning users.

The gym owner — the user who created the gym in the app. Has full control over the gym, including appointing and removing moderators. Each gym can have only one admin.

Moderator role is gym-specific. The same user can be a moderator in one gym and a regular user in another.

The admin is always the gym creator. Admin rights can be transferred to another user on the gym editing screen.

Everything available to a moderator is also available to the admin. The admin can do everything a moderator can.

Moderators are appointed by the gym admin — reach out to them.
